Themonitorcaninterfacewithperipheralmedicaldevices,suchasventilatorsandgas
deliverysystems,tocentralizepatientdataononedevice.AUnityNetworkInterface
Device(ID)isusedwiththemonitortocommunicatewithperipheraldevices.It
acquiresdigitaldatafromeightindividuallyisolatedserialports.Thedataiscollected
fromuptoeightperipheraldevices(notnecessarilymanufacturedbyGE),andthen
theinterfacedevicetransmitstheformatteddatatothemonitor.
Themonitorcanonlydisplayinformationthattheperipheraldevicesends.The
parameterssentvarywitheachperipheraldeviceandaresubjecttochange.Itisalso
importanttonotethatalarmsvaryaccordingtotheprimaryinterfaceddevice.
Insomecases,theperipheraldevicemayimposealarmcontrolparametersthatyou
maynotbeabletochangeorsilencewiththemonitor’scontrols.
