Thefollowingalarmswillbreakthroughwhenactivatedathighpriorityalarm
conditionregardlessofthe2to5minuteaudiblealarmpause:Asystole,VFib/VTach,
VTach,andBrady(intheNICUsoftwarepackageonly).
WARNING
IfAlarmSetup>Audible&Visual>PauseAllAudiofor5min
orthe2minuteaudiopauseisselectedbeforeanalarmis
triggered,onlythealarmsforhypoxicgasmixture(FiO2low,
EtO2low,FiN2Ohigh),andthealarmfordangerouslyhigh
airwaypressure(Ppeakhigh:measuredPpeakexceedsthe
sethighalarmlimitby10cmH

O)willbreakthrough.The
pauseaudiobehaviorisconguredintheCareUnitSettings
andthesettingispasswordprotected.
Latchedalarms
Whenalarmsarelatched,theaudiblealarmandvisualmessageremainsafterthe
alarmconditionnolongerexists.Theaudiblealarmcanbepausedwiththepause
audiokey,andthisalsoclearsthealarmmessagefromthescreen.Alarmscanbe
conguredtolatchforhighpriorityalarmsonly,allalarmpriorities,ornone.The
LatchingAlarmssettingisconguredintheCareUnitSettingsanditispassword
protected.

Settingparameteralarmlimits
ParameteralarmlimitsmaybesetintheAlarmsSetupmenu,orintheparameter
menus’ownAlarmstab.Alarmlimitsshouldnotbesetbeyondreasonable
physiologicalboundariesinordertomaintainpatientsafety.Settingoutsideof
reasonableboundarieswouldcausethealarmstobeineffective.
1.SelectAlarmSetupfromthemonitor’smainmenu.
2.SelecttheAlarmLimitstab.
3.Selectaparameterlabel.
Ifyouareunabletondaspecicparameter,selecttherightarrowtodisplay
additionallabels.Iftheparameterlimithasbeenturnedoff,thealarmlimitwill
begreyedout.
Selectingaparameterlabeltakesyoutothatparametermenu’sAlarmstab
whereyoucanselectalarmsonoroff,andsettheirlimits.
Alarmlocks
Alarmlockspreventparameteralarmlimitsfrombeingturnedoff.Whenanalarmis
locked,alockiconappearsnexttotheAlarmOn/AlarmOffsetting.Parameteralarm
locksaresetintheCareUnitSettingsandtheyarepasswordprotected.

Alarmguardlimits
Alarmguardlimitspreventparameteralarmlimitsfrombeingadjustedabove(high)
orbelow(low)thesevalues.Whenanalarmhasaguardlimit,thereisagrayguard
