toOFFwhenthePatientDataModule(PDM)isremovedfrom
onemonitorandisconnectedtoanothermonitorifthePDM
batteryisnotinstalled.IfthePatientDataModule(PDM)is
usedforbedsideandtransportmonitoring,itsbatteryshould
beinstalledwheninuse.IntheeventthatthePDMbattery
isnotinstalled,thesettingsforNIBPAutocanberesetafter
connectingthePatientDataModuletothemonitor.
WARNING
GEmonitorsaredesignedforusewithdual-hosecuffsand
tubing.Theuseofsingle-hosecuffswithdualhosetubingcan
resultinunreliableandinaccurateNIBPdata.
WARNING
DonotplacethecuffonalimbbeingusedforA-Vstulas,
intravenousinfusionoronanyareawherecirculationis
compromisedorhasthepotentialtobecompromised.
WARNING
—PDMForSuperSTATNIBP(Adult/Child)only—Ittakesoneto
threeminutesfortheNIBPparametertoidentifyanirregular
rhythmafterECGisconnected.Forpatientswithirregular
rhythms,simultaneousmonitoringofECGwillenhance
NIBPperformance.WaitthreeminutesafterECGhasbeen
connectedandECGheartrateispresentonthemonitor
screenbeforeperforminganNIBPdetermination.
WARNING
AccuracyofNIBPmeasurementdependsonusingacuffof
thepropersize.Itisessentialtomeasurethecircumferenceof
thelimbandchoosethepropersizecuff.
WARNING—NIBPREADINGSMAYTIMEOUTWHENUSINGIABP—AnIABP
balloonpumpcreatesnon-physiologicalarterialwaveforms.
Thesewaveformscreateanoscillometricsignalthatmaynot
beinterpretedbytheNIBPalgorithm,causingNIBPtotime
out.Thepatientbloodpressurecanbemonitoredfromthe
balloonpumpdevice.
WARNING
TheNIBPcuffsizeforPDMandTRAMortheinationlimitsfor
PSM(withundetectedcuffhoses)mustbecorrectlyselected
intheNIBPSetupwindowtoobtainreliableNIBPdataand
topreventexcessivecuffpressureduringinfant(neonate)or
child(pediatric)use.
WARNING
Ifapatient’sbeat-to-beatpulseamplitudevariessignicantly
(e.g.,becauseofpulsusalternans,atrialbrillation,orthe
useofarapid-cyclingarticialventilator),bloodpressure
andpulseratereadingscanbeerratic,andanalternate
measuringmethodshouldbeusedforconrmation.

CAUTION
Theacquisitionmodulesetstheinationpressure
automaticallyaccordingtothepreviousmeasurement.Reset
thecaseordischargethepatienttoresettheinationlimits
beforemeasuringNIBPonanewpatient.
