intocontactwithothergrounded,conductivepartswhen
connectedtotheisolatedpatientinputofthedevice.Such
contactwouldbridgethepatient’sisolationandcancelthe
protectionprovidedbytheisolatedinput.

—DELAYEDASYSTOLEALARM—Thepulsatileheartratemay
haveaslowerresponsetimethantheelectricalheartrate
wherethereisalowperfusionpatientcondition.Whenusing
theIntelliRatefeatureinthissituation,themonitormaydelay
callinganASYSTOLEpatientalarm.Theusermayelecttoturn
theIntelliRatefeatureoffforpatientsatriskoftheseevents,
otherwisepatienttreatmentmaybedelayed.Suchpatients
shouldalwaysbekeptundercloseobservation.

—NOISYECGalarm—TheNoisyECGalarmindicatesthatthe
systemisnolongermonitoringECGandtheremaybenoHR
high,HRlow,TachyorBradyalarms.Ifyouadjustthealarm
prioritylevellowerthanthedefaultvalue,keepthepatient
underclosesurveillance.

—INACCURATEHEARTRATEINDICATION—PDM—The
electricalandpulsatileheartratevaluesprovidedbythe
variousmonitoredparameters(ECG,SpO
2
,bloodpressures)
maydiffermarkedly.Thesedifferencesmaybedueto
underlyingphysiologicconditions(e.g.,electromechanical
dissociation,pulselesselectricalactivity,non-perfusing
rhythms)ortoinaccuraciesintheheartratevaluescaused
byartifactorpoorsignalquality.Theusermayelecttoturn
theIntelliRatefeatureoffforpatientsatriskoftheseevents,
otherwisepatienttreatmentmaybedelayed.Suchpatients
shouldalwaysbekeptundercloseobservation.
