6.14.3 PAPER LIFT – TRAYS 2 & 3
The machine detects when a tray has been placed in the machine by a signal from
the paper size switch. When this is detected, the tray lift motor [A] turns on. The
coupling gear [B] on the tray lift motor engages the pin [C] on the lift arm shaft [D],
then it turns the tray lift arm [E] to lift the tray bottom plate [F].
For tray 1, an electrical signal from the tray connector automatically informs the cpu
when the tray has been placed in the machine.
