Auto focus
Auto focus or automated servo focus is a function to automatically focus the telescope to the target.
The auto focus function is only available when Measure rounds with a Trimble S6 & S8 Total Station
or a Trimble VX Spatial Station.
Auto focus functionality is available in R11 and higher for S8 and VX, in R12 or higher for S6.
The following is necessary to activate Auto focus function:
• Update instrument firmware to support Auto focus functionality.
• Calibrate Auto focus in the instrument, either through PASS (
Check servo focus specifications
in
Maintenance & Service) or through the face II display.
• Activate the Auto focus function in the application program. There is a tick box were the
function can be activate/deactivate.
- Auto focus starts to work after the first round is completed (both face I and face II) or directly if a
CSV file (known points) is loaded into the application software.

• Calibration of Auto focus position to infinity is made in PASS, Check servo focus
specifications.
Replacement of spare parts
No specific Auto focus parts only standard servo focus replacement parts:
• SFC board
• Servo focus, mech. unit complete incl. SFC board.
