Radio short range test
Performance
4 Reconnect radio
communication link.
Establish radio
communication.
When
instrument is
communicating
in remote mode
it is OK.

1 Mount antenna on
both instrument and
external device.
2 Start up a robotic radio
communication.
Set correct radio channel
and network on instrument
and that no nearby
systems are running on
these settings.
3 Test at close range:
Distance 0,2 - 4m
(0,6ft - 13ft)
Height difference <
0,5m (1,6ft)
Test the robotic system by
running the joystick
function via the
application software.
Press and release
repeatedly the control
functions on the display
for one minute.
If radio
communication is not
working or the
message sequence:
["radio link down",
"radio link up"] is
displayed, remove the
antenna on the
external device, the
system should
established radio
communication.
4 If test fails replace
radio module.
Replace radio module in
the external device e.g.
Robotic holder with TCU
or TSC2 first and if the
problem remains replace
the radio module in the
instrument e.g. Trimble
S6, SPS, VX and 5600
series.
5 Repeat the short range
test.
