2.48 IP FAX Relay, T.38 Support
Description
Because of their nature, Fax tones do not transmit well through IP networks, particularly
when compression is employed. To address this, the external network interfaces of the
system support T.38 protocol that defines the translation of analog fax tones to digital signals.
When Fax tone is detected on an IP Line or SIP Trunk, the system will activate a T.38 Fax
relay channel to the appropriate port.
