2.29 Dial Pulse to Tone Switchover
Description
On a pulse dial outside Line, you can request the system to change the signaling mode from
pulse to DTMF. This allows you to access outside facilities that require DTMF signals such as
banking services, Voice mail, etc.
Operation
1. Dial “*”, the signaling changes to DTMF.
To switch from pulse to DTMF while on a pulse Line
Conditions
1. This command is only recognized for analog pulse dial CO lines.
2. Dial pulse to tone switchover is not available when using Redial to repeat a Speed
Dial number.
3. When “*” is the first digit of a dialed number, the Display Security feature is
enabled or is dialed as a normal digit based on the System Attribute. Otherwise,
when the system encounters an “*” in a Speed Dial digit string, dialing will pause
then the remaining digit are sent using DTMF signaling.
4. For VoIP calls, pulse dialing is not available thus; switchover is not required or
supported.
