5 Preparation and pre-
adjustment of camera
focus.
A. Select the Camera
focusing
adjustment
check
box.
Use the coarse sight
to aim in face 2 to
the concentric rings
of the focusing
target.
B. Press the
Start
button for Aiming
target/pre-
adjustment
.
C. Switch on
Holding
mode
to hold and
control the
instrument
position.
D. Improve aiming
while observing the
left section on the
screen. Turn the
instrument vertical
and horizontal to
move the crossbar
in coincidence with
the fiducial marks.
E. Check Auto-
exposure and White
balance. Select the
appropriate radio
button concerning
the present light
conditions.
The video image
is visible on
screen and the
Holding mode
buttons are
activated. The
Auto-exposure
function is
controlling the
brightness.
The levels of
Exposure R-G-B
has to be a
maximum in
evenness insight
the yellow 50-
80% range.See
Fig. 6-173 on
page 6-161
The optical axis of
video camera and
centre unit does not
correspond each other.
Therefore the cross-
hairs can not be used
for aiming precisely.
Correct the target if the
marks are twisted. The
rather exact angle
position of the black
square is important see
Fig. 6-171 on page 6-
158 .
In the pre-adjustment
stage only the Auto-
exposure
determination takes
place.
The coloured bars on
Exposure R-G-B
indicating:
black colour =
exposure to low
yellow colour =
exposure correct
white colour =
exposure to high.
