2.2 Important safety instructions
To prevent risk, personal injury and Event Master devices damages
Please read this chapter carefully. It includes several cautions to prevent damage to Event Master devices. Ensu re that you un-
derstand and follow all s afety guidelines, safety instructions and warnings mentioned in this chapter before installing E vent Master
devices. After this chapter, additional “ warnings” and “cautions” are g iven depending on the installation procedure. Read and follow
these “warnings” and “cautions” as well.
• Read and follow all installation and operation instructions.
• Only trained technicians may install Event Master devices.
• Installation of E vent Ma ster devices m ust be done in a dust free area.
• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
• CAUTION: Troubleshooting must be performed by a trained technician. To reduce the risk of electrical shoc
k, do not attempt
to service this equipm ent unless you are qualified to do so.
• Refer all servicing to qualified s ervice personnel. Servicing is required when the system has been damaged in any way, such
as liquid has been spilled or objec ts have fallen into the syste m, or the system has been expos ed to rain or moisture, does not
operate normally, or has been dropped.
• FRAGILE: Even t Master devices are fragile. Handle these devices with care a t all times.
• To prevent injury, m inimum 2 persons are required to carry an Event M aster series processor or an EC–200 controller.
• Do not remove any covers or panels during normal operation. Removal any of these items will expose sensitive electronic
circuits and the unit may be dam aged.
• During m aintenance ope rations, always switch off thedevice and unplug power cords before removing on e of the covers.
• Always wear a wrist band which is connected to the ground while handling t he ESD sensitive parts.
• Wear insulating gloves during the exec ution of the installation and maintenance actions to avoid short-circuit.
• Be careful nev er to drop anything into the device assem bly during the service procedu
res.
• Be careful to alway s follow the procedures during maintenance opera tions (spare parts replacement).
• This product is intended to operate from a power source that will not apply more than 230 volts rm s between the sup ply con-
ductors or be tween both supply conductor and gro und. A protective ground connection by way of grounding conductor in the
power cord is essential for safe operation.
• This product is grounded through the grounding conductor of the power c ord. To avoid e lectrical shock, plug the power cord
into a properly wired receptacle before connecting to the product input or output terminals. A protective-ground connection by
way of the grounding conductor in the power cord is essential for safe operation. For 110V installations the power supply cord
should be rated at 13amps. For 220V installations the power sup ply cord should be rated 10amps.
• Use only the power cord and connector specified for your product. Use only a p ower co rd
that is in good con dition. Refer co rd
and connector ch anges to qualified service personnel.
• Replace spare parts only with the same parts supplied by Barco.
• Save the original shipping carton and packing material. T hey will come in handy if you ever have to ship your equipment. For
maximum protection, repack your set as it was originally packed at the factory.
