11.2 EC-30 c ontroller connection
Prerequisites
Event M aster Toolset revision 4.2 or higher must be installed on the Host com puter p rior to the connec tion of the E C-30.
Verify that the Host comp uter is equipped with the latest software version available on the Barco web site
(URL:h
ttps://ww w.barco.com/). Refer to the chapters "Download of Even t Master To olset Software", p age 90
and "Software installation", p age 91 f or m ore information on the so ftware dow nloading and h ow install it on
the Ho s t com puter.

EC-30 connections
Description
1. Connec t the Host com puter to the USB B connector on the EC -30. Necessary cables are provided in a new system. In the
case tha t the original c ables are miss ing, s imply use standard com puter cabling to make these c onnections.
2. Connec t AC power to the power supply, and connect the power supply to DC power on the rear panel of the unit.
Running the power-supply cable through one o f the strain-relief tabs on the rear of the unit can help to keep the cable from
pulling out of the D C power connector. Loosen the screw on a relief tab; run the power-supply cable through the tab; tighten
the screw.
You c an consume extra cable length, if ne cessary, by passing the c able through both tabs.
3. Power up the EC-30 control panel, Host compu
ter, and peripherals.
During the Event Master Toolset installation you are asked to add a driver, be sure to answer yes to this ques-
tion in order to use the EC-30 with your host computer. If the driver is not installed the EC-30 will not work.
