7. System Setup
7.1 Setup Prerequisites
Prerequisites
Before starting to set up your Event Master s eries processor, please review the following prerequisites:
• Ensure that you are familiar with the Ev ent Mas ter devices, including s ystem control m eans a nd fe atures. For details, please
refer to C hap ter "G eneral", page 17.
• Ensure that you are familiar with front pa nel menus of the Event M aster process ors. For details on all menus, please refer to
chapter"Front Panel Menu orientation", page 63
• Ensure that you are familiar with front panel menus and Event Master Toolset Software. For details on E vent Master Toolset
Software, please refer to chapter"EM G UI orientation", page 8 7
• Ensure that the unit is physically sec ured on a rack or is placed on a flat surface w ith a stable support. If the unit is installed on
a rack, it is mandatory that the rear bra ckets are also installed. For de tails, please r efer to chapter "Rack-Mount Procedure",
page 38.
• Ensure that all hardware is properly ins talled, and that all sour ces, displays and peripherals are properly connected. For details
concerning Event M aster series pr ocessor connec tors, pleas e refer to the unit rear panel descripti
on in the chapter "Rea r panel",
page 44.
• Connect the AC power to the unit. If power redunda ncy is des ired, connec t power to both power p lugs.
• Make sure that the Event Master series processor is connected to the E thernet local network in order to communicate with the
PC where the c ontrol so ftware is installed.
