General
The following illustration shows the Diagnostics submenu, which you acc ess from the S ystem menu.

The Diagnostics options allow a user to check if the Event Master unit is f unctioning normally. Front panel and card operations c an
be checked. Various system temper atures c an be m onitored and backu p log files can be saved for custome r ser vice troubleshooting.
Front Panel
When Front Panel is selected to be tested, the VFD display will initially be blanked. Then the 24 x 4 character grid will start to show
from the dimm est setting to the brightest setting. At this point a us er can determine if any of the pixels or if a character segment is
bad in the d isplay.
After several seconds of s howing all pixels on at the brightest setting, the s ystem will automatically advance to the E NCODE R/BUT-
TON TEST m enu (the next menu).
Directly select “Encoder/Button” from the Diagnostic m enu will allow the u ser to test the k eys and knob with-
out the need to see the VFD b eing tested.

The ENC ODER/BUTTON TEST menu allow the user to test the keys and kno b.
When the knob on the front panel is rotated, a num ber will be displayed on the encoder line. The larger the number, the faster the
knob wa s rotated. The number will s how as p
ositive or neg ative depending on the direction the knob was turned.
Pressing any key on the front panel will show the B utton C ode for the key.
