3.5 Control overvie w
General
There are several way s to c ontrol Event M aster Series Processors.
Settings and Diagnostics:
• Front Panel.
• Web interface running directly from an Event Master series processor.
Operational Set up an d Program ming:
• Event Mast er Toolset running on a Windows 7 PC or Apple Mac with O SX.
• EventMaster Controller EC -50 or EC-200.
Remote reca ll and non-Barco device connectivity:
• External serial protocol connected devices like PreSetManager.
Not all of these do the same thing, below the immediate differences. S everal of these all work at the same time, providing multiple
points of control.
Front Panel
The E vent Master series processor front panel includes a power sw itch, a US B port and a dim mable display that wor ks in conjunction
with the A DJUS T knob and SEL and E SC buttons. Through the front panel menus you can perform bas ic system functions such
as factory reset, set network parameters and bas ic diagnostics. A front-panel USB por t is provided for downloadin
g and restoring
logo imag es and system configurations. Refer to the chapter "Front panel", page 42 for m ore information about the about the E vent
Master Series processor front panel menus.
Web interface
Via the loc al network and a computer the user can acc ess a web page server running on Event Master series processor. Basic
system functions similar to the ones available from the front panel menus are a ccessible through the w eb page server. Refer to the
chapter "Settings Menu", page 201 for more information about the E vent Master Series Web interface.
Event Master Toolset (EMTS)
Event Master Toolset Software is an easy to use GUI running on a PC or MAC . It provides all the Event Master Series of p roduct
with control and configuration.
The software con sists of several menus and tabs that enable y ou to configure your system, setup the input sources and output
destinations, manage the dedicated multiviewer and create your presentation’s overa ll “look”.
In addition, since the configura tion parameters and presets are stored on the Even t Master processor unit, multiple instances of the
GUI can be run simultaneously on different computers expanding the control
possibilities.
Refer to the cha pter "EM GU I orientation", page 87 for more information about the GUI. Subs equently in this User’s Guide, the E vent
Master Control Software will be referred as the EM GUI.
Event Master Controller
The Event Master Controllers are dedicated hardware cons oles specifically designed to support the Event M aster Series Processors,
devices and systems created from several of them .
It runs from the same software as the Event M aster ToolSet, but EC- 200 on an industrial operating system w ith optimized hardware.
All of t hem includes tactile oper ation style with buttons and touch screen displays a llowing for easy and direct con trol.
Rudimentary Preset recall protocol for a single Processor is the same as for earlier products like Encore TM and FSN Production
Switching syst em.
An API based on JSON (Ja va Script Ob ject Notation) is available for developers w ho need to c reate custom c ontrol programs and
interfaces.
