PIP
Picture-in-Picture, an on-screen c onfiguration in which one picture (typically of reduced size) is positioned over another b ackground
image — or another PIP. PIPs can be r educed, enlarged, bordered, shad owed, and mixed on and off Program. PIPs can overlap
each other, depending o n their v isual priority. In E2, the m ultiviewer PIPs are not allowed to overlap.
Preset
Storage register in which y ou can store (and recall) the entire configuration or “look” of your des tination(s).
PVW (Preview)
The video that will appear next o n program (main) outputs.
RGB
The red, green and blue color s ignal components.
Scaler
An elec tronic circuit that reduces or enlarges source images, thus creating PIPs a nd Keys that c an be positioned (and transitioned).
SDI (Serial Digital Video)
SD / HD / 3G / 6G-S DI is a digital representation of the video signal that is distributed via a single coaxial cable with BNC c onnectors.

System
A Event Master system is all processors and devices included in one configur ation of the control software.
T-Bar
Also known a s a Fader, the T-Bar is the lever on a switcher that manu ally controls the progress of an effect. The position of the fader
controls the amou nt of the BG (Background) Bus signal and the PVW (Preview) Bus signal that contributes to the mix, w ipe or key.
Wipe
A W ipe is a transition between two video sources that uses a s elected pattern to determine the edge between the two sources.
Z-order
All layers of a Ev ent Master Processor will ha ve its layers i
n a z -order. Typically with is BG as the lowest.
