7.10 C onfiguration Menu > Initial Setup
General
In this procedure, y ou will run the Event Master Toolset S oftware (EMTS), verify communication be tween theEvent M aster series
processor (EMP) and the program to the local network and perform basic setup.
Prerequisite
• Ensure that you are familiar with the Configuration Menu. For details on this m enu, pleas e refer to cha
pter "Configuration
Menu", page 96
Setup
1. Connect the PC running the EMT S to the sam e local network switch that the EMP is connec ted to. Run the EMTS and the
software should connect to EMP automatically. The unit is listed in the System con figuration page under the Discovered tab
with the button on turning yellow.
2. Drag and drop the EM P from the device area into the middle diagram area.
3. If multiple units are con nected to the PC, the yellow LED s next to the system will turn green. You can ass ign a unique name to
each unit. Confirm that you are c onnected to the right unit by clicking the arrow in front o f EMP to reveal the unit’s IP address.
Ver ify that this address is the same as the address listed on the unit’s front panel on the top status menu.
Note: If the unit doesn’t connect automatically to the PC, yo u can type the PC’s IP address in the field under “Manual Connec t”.
A reason for this c an be the PC´s firewall s ettings. Be sure to allow full communication for EMTS and EM P.
4. (Optional) Select the EMP´s native v ertical refresh rate from the “N
ative Rate:” drop-down menu. Default value is 59.94Hz.
5. (Optional) Select the EM P´s Scaler capac ity from the “Scaler Mod e:” drop-down menu. Possible are 2K / DL and 4K setting the
maximum scaling capacity for the Layer. Default value is 2K (HD).
6. (Optional) Select the EMP´s Genlock mode from “Genlock” drop-down menu. Default v alue is OFF.
