31 Base Settings

The procedures below describe the base settings of the handset.

31.1 Manage Handsets

The sub-sections below describe how to rename and de-register a handset.

31.1.1 Renaming the Handset

By default, your handset name is “DECT”. You can assign a different name to your

handset. The handset name is displayed on the main screen in idle state.

 To rename the handset:

1. Press the Menu softkey.

2. Press the navigation keys to scroll to the Base Settings

icon, and

then press the Select softkey.

3. Press the navigation keys to choose the Manage HS option, and then press the

Select softkey.

4. Press the navigation keys to choose the handset that you want to rename, and

then press the Select softkey.

5. Press the navigation keys to choose the Rename HS option, and then press the

Select softkey.

6. Using the alphanumerical keypad, enter the required name for the handset. Press the

Clear softkey to delete characters to the left of the cursor or press and hold the Clear

softkey to delete the whole character string.

7. Press the OK softkey to save the new name; the handset name is saved and “Saved”

is displayed.

Note: The handset name can be up to 12 characters.
