8 - IMMOBILIZER E
TRASPONDER
L'immobilizer è un sistema che
impedisce l'avviamento del motore
se il conducente non utilizza la chiave
di accensione specifica, in grado di
trasmettere un codice di
riconoscimento ad un decodificatore
inserito nel quadro degli strumenti. Il
sistema di ricezione - trasmissione è
composto da un "TRANSPONDER"
inserito nelle chiavi di avviamento e
da un'antenna posta in prossimità del
blocchetto di accensione.
Chiavi con transponder
Le chiavi non sono tutte uguali, in
particolare si distinguono in una
chiave rossa e due chiavi nere.
Chiave rossa:
- contiene il codice segreto sorgente
che viene utilizzato per la
programmazione degli elementi del
sistema immobilizer e permette
l'avviamento del motore;
- permette di programmare,
cancellare e riprogrammare le
chiavi NERE nel sistema
immobilizer;
- l'impugnatura della chiave (che
contiene il circuito elettronico per la
trasmissione del codice segreto
memorizzato) è separabile per
permettere la sostituzione delle
serrature meccaniche e del
blocchetto di avviamento;
- si consiglia di utilizzare la chiave
rossa solo per le procedure di
programmazione dei componenti
del sistema immobilizer. Per
l'accensione della moto occorre
utilizzare le chiavi nere. Conservare
la chiave rossa in un luogo sicuro.
Chiavi nere:
- sono le chiavi normalmente
utilizzate per l'avviamento del
motore.
- l'impugnatura della chiave (che
contiene il circuito elettronico per la
trasmissione del codice segreto
memorizzato) NON è separabile.
Il transponder è un elemento posto
all'interno del corpo della chiave di
accensione ed è composto da un
circuito di alimentazione, da una ROM
(memoria a sola lettura) e da un circuito
di trasmissione. Il transponder preleva
l'energia per il suo funzionamento dal
campo magnetico fornito dall'antenna
che si attiva quando viene acceso il
quadro. Essendo di dimensioni ridotte
e non avendo bisogno di alimentazione
esterna tramite batteria, viene
annegato direttamente nel corpo
chiave.
8 - IMMOBILIZER AND
TRANSPONDER
The immobilizer system prevents the
engine from starting if the rider fails
to use the proper ignition key to
transmit a secret code to a decoder
inside the instrument panel. A
TRANSPONDER incorporated in the
ignition key and an antenna near the
ignition switch act as reception-
transmission system.
Transponder keys
The motorcycle's keys are not all the
same. There is one red key and two
black keys.
The red key:
- Contains the secret source code
used to program the components
of the immobilizer system. This key
also starts the engine.
- Is used to program, cancel and re-
program the BLACK keys
belonging to the immobilizer
system.
- Incorporates in its grip the
electronic circuitry for transmitting
the secret code. The grip can
therefore be separated from the
metal key blade if it becomes
necessary to change the
mechanical locks and ignition key
switch.
- Should only be used to program
the components of the immobilizer
system. The black keys should
always be used to start the engine.
Always keep the red key in a safe
place.
The black keys:
- Are the keys normally used to start
the engine.
- Incorporates in their grips the
electronic circuitry for transmitting
the secret code, but have grips that
CANNOT be separated from the
metal key blade.
The transponder is integrated in the
grip of the ignition key and
incorporates a power circuit, a
ROM (Read Only Memory) and a
transmitter. The transponder derives
the energy it needs to operate from
the magnetic field generated by the
antenna when the instrument panel is
switched on.
The transponder has been embedded
directly in the key grip thanks to
advanced miniaturisation and the fact
that it does not require any battery.
