Layer type = Key; Mode = Chroma
A Chroma (Chrominance) Key is one in which the hole-cutting
information is derived from a color in the key source.
After s electing a Hue color to key out, it m ay be ne cessary to
make additional adjustments to improve the look of the overall
compositing effect.
Chroma Clip: This is an angle, centered around the Hue color.
Any color inside this angle is fully keyed out.
• Range: 0 to 100
•Default:10
Ramp: This is an angle, also centered around the H ue color. It
must be equal to or larger than the Chroma Clip angle. Inside
the Chroma R amp angle, the colors keyed out ramp linearly
the closer the foreground color approaches the Chrom a C lip
angle. Outside the C hroma Ramp angle, the foreground colors
are not suppressed.
• Range:0 t o 100
•Default:90
Opacity: This allows the key source to bec ome increasingly
transparent with respect to the background source.
• Range: 0 to 100
• Default: 100
Hue: This field s elects the color to be removed or keyed out of
the input. While this can b e manually adjusted, the "P ICK HUE"
feature also changes this number.
• Range: 0 to 100
•Default:0
Spill: Spill removes unwanted “k ey” color, which is generally a
result of reflection from the ( green or blue screen) background,
on the foregro und object.
• Range: 0 to 100
•Default:0
Shadow: T his allows shadows to be preserved or removed in
the foreground imag e (opposite of Highlight).
• Range: 0 to 100
•Default:0
Highlight: This allows highlights to be preserved or removed in
the foreground ima ge (opposite of Shadow).
• Range: 0 to 100
•Default:0
Saturation Clip: This defines the thres hold along the Saturation
axis where keying begins.
Below the clip threshold, the colors a re not keyed out. Abov e
the clip threshold, the color s follow the results of Chroma Clip
and Gain, but they depend on the Saturation Gain setting as this
creates a linear k ey color strength ramp in the key area.
• Range: 0 to 100
•Default:5
Saturation Gain: This defines the transition along the saturation
axis between keying off and keying on.
• Range: 0 to 100
•Default:5
Reset:Press to return all c lip, gain and opacity settings to their
default v alues.
