■ The toner is attracted to the latent image on the surface of the drum at the
point where the drum is in contact with the developing roller.
4. Transfer: The Transfer Roller, made of a conductive sponge, presses the paper
against the surface of the drum. This process sandwiches the paper between the
drum and the Transfer Unit belt. A positive charge, supplied by the HVPS
through contacts on the Transfer Unit, is applied to the Transfer Roller attracting
the negatively-charged toner from the surface of the drum onto the paper.
