Usage Guidelines
The 802.1X server timeout for an interface is the number of seconds that the Cisco NX-OS device waits before
retransmitting a packet to the authentication server. This value overrides the global reauthentication period
timeout.
You must use the feature dot1x command before you configure 802.1X.
You should change the default value only to adjust for unusual circumstances, such as unreliable links or
specific behavioral problems with certain supplicants and authentication servers.
Note
This command does not require a license.
Examples
This example shows how to configure the global 802.1X server timeout interval:
switch# configure terminal
switch(config)# interface ethernet 2/1
switch(config-if)# dot1x timeout server-timeout 45
This example shows how to revert to the default global 802.1X server timeout interval:
switch# configure terminal
switch(config)# interface ethernet 2/1
switch(config-if)# dot1x timeout server-timeout 45
