20.4 Removing the Battery Before Discarding the Unit
When disposing of this product, remove the lithium battery and dispose of
battery and product in accordance with local regulations.
Before final disposal of the 8841/42, remove the battery as described below.
1. Verify that the power is switched OFF.
2. Disconnect all connector cables, the power cord and thermocouples.
3. Remove 4 bolts as illustrated below, and then remove the cover.
4. Remove the rear panel. The battery is located in the position on the PCB
shown in the figure.
5. Remove the battery cords (red and black) from the board. (Pulling the cords
unplugs them from the board.) Otherwise, cut the cords with wire-snippers.
6. Remove the battery (the battery is attached to the board with double-sided
adhesive tape).
