Phaser 6500/WorkCentre 6505 Service Manual Xerox Internal Use Only 2-9
Theory of Operation
Image Transfer
During transfer, latent images formed on the drums are transferred to the media
by attraction to the BTR (bias transfer rollers) in the Transfer Belt. The BTR is a
metal roller, to which a positive voltage from the HVPS is applied. The BTR
positively charges the belt. The toner on the drums moves towards the Transfer
Belt due to the attracting force generated between the negative polarity of the
toner and the positive charge on the belt. The four color separation images are
transferred from the drums in Y, M, C, and K order.
