11. Fit the lower connecting rod bearing shell
into the cap and lubricate the bearing surface.
Fit the cap. Check that the connecting rod
and cap have the same marking and that they
are opposite each other.
12. Lubricate the bolts, fit them and tighten to
20 Nm + 90°. Check that the pistons nozzles
are in perfect condition and fully open. If
necessary, blow clean with compressed air.
13. Fit the piston cooling nozzle and tighten the
banjo bolts to 23 Nm.
14. Fit the oil sump and tighten the bolts to 30 Nm.
15. Fit the cylinder head. Tighten the cylinder
head bolts as described in the section
Cylinder head.
The piston cooling nozzle must not be damaged. The oil jet must
hit the piston precisely. If it does not, the piston will become too
warm resulting in engine breakdown. Damaged nozzles must not
be re-aligned, renew them instead.
