Camshaft
Removal
1. Remove the flywheel as described in
Removing the flywheel.
2. Remove the flywheel housing as described in
Removing the flywheel housing.
3. Remove rocker arms, pushrods and valve
bridges.
4. Remove the camshaft gear.
5. Remove the intermediate gear and the guide
flange bolts.
6. Remove the timing gear plate.
7. Remove the camshaft covers.
8. Remove the valve tappets.
9. Pull the camshaft backwards. Take care not
to damage the cams and bearings.
Mark the valve tappets because they must be
retted in the same places.
