The manual configuration task consists of two parts:
Step 1: Configure Hot Spare Drives
Step 2: Create Logical Drives
Configure Hot Spare Drives
This is a shortcut to the automatic hot spares configuration applet. You cannot select the
number or position of hot spare drives, the process is completely automatic. Storage Manager
assigns the appropriate number of hot spare drives to provide optimal coverage for all
physical disks. Figure 4-43 shows the automatic hot spares configuration window.
