Description of function
If the converter detects a logical error in an access attempt, it responds with the following two
bytes in the protocol data unit:
• Byte1: Highest bit in function code = 1
• Byte2: Error code

Error code Name Possible error causes
01 Invalid function code
• The controller has sent a function code that is not sup‐
ported by the converter.
• The current UMAC settings do not contain any write or
read permissions.
02 Invalid register
• The controller is attempting to access an invalid register.
• The range de󹪝ned by the starting register and the num‐
ber of registers contains one or more invalid registers.
03 Invalid data value The controller is addressing more than 125 registers.
04 General error
• Write access to a "Read only" register
• Write access to a reserved register
