Overview
The converter calculates the motor temperature based on a thermal motor model.
Description of function
The thermal motor model 2 for induction motors is a thermal 3-mass model, consisting of stator
core, stator winding and rotor. Thermal motor model 2 calculates the temperatures in both the
rotor and the stator winding.
The converter responds more quickly to a temperature change when the temperature is
calculated based on the thermal motor model compared to when it is measured with a
temperature sensor.
After commissioning, the converter sets the thermal motor type that is suitable for the motor.
If you use the thermal motor model together with a temperature sensor, e.g. a Pt1000, the
converter corrects the model using the measured temperature.
