A drive data set can contain various adjustable parameters that are relevant for open-loop
and closed-loop control of the drive:
• Numbers of the assigned motor and encoder data sets:
– 1 assigned motor data set (MDS)
– Up to 2 assigned encoder data sets (EDS, encoder data sets)
• Various closed-loop control parameters, for example:
– Fixed speed setpoints
– Speed limits min./max.
– Characteristic data of the ramp-function generator
– Characteristic data of the closed-loop controller
It is possible to congure several drive data sets. You can easily switch between dierent
drive congurations (control type, motor, encoder) by selecting the corresponding drive data
set.
The converter switches the motor data set (MDS) and the power unit data set (PDS) together
with the drive data set (DDS).
Example
Dierent motors are being operated on one converter. Depending on the particular motor, the
converter must operate with the associated motor data and the appropriate ramp-function
generator.
