Action: EMERGENCY OFF EMERGENCY STOP EMERGENCY STOP
Stop category0 according to
IEC60204‑1
Stop category 1 according to IEC
60204‑1
Risk:
Electric shock
Unexpected motion Motion
Measure to mini‐
mize risk:
Switch o voltage
Switch o hazardous voltages
completely or in part
Prevent movement
Prevent any hazardous movement
Stop movement
Stop hazardous movement and
prevent any restart.
Classic solution: Switch o the voltage:
Switch o the power supply of the
drive:
Brake the motor and switch o the
drive power supply
Solution with the
STO or SS1 Safety In‐
tegrated Function
integrated in the
drive:
STO and SS1 are not suitable
for switching o an electric
voltage.
Select STO:
Select SS1:
It is permissible that you switch o the converter power supply as well.
However, switching o the voltage is not required as a risk-reduction
measurement.
