For example, you can use the above formula to estimate a time of the upgrade of
the Mediant 8000 chassis with SC Rev.1 boards (using the Solaris OS) and 3
Media Gateway boards in a typical IP network, as follows:
Note: Even when you choose Hitless Upgrade as the preferred upgrade
mechanism, some Media Gateway boards may be upgraded via the Graceful
Shutdown mechanism (for more information, see Section 'Overview' on page 811).
Therefore, when you plan a maintenance time period, perform estimations of the
Graceful Shutdown mechanism scenario as well.
