Crankshaft Main Bearing Journal Diameter

Micrometer
1. Measure the diameter of the main bearing
journals and the big-end bearing journals.
• Repeat the measurement using the
micrometer offset by 90° to establish any
eccentricity.
• Measure the bearing journal in two
different places to measure any possible
tapering.
