Removal
NOTE: The exhaust systems are of two or three-
piece construction for production and three-piece
construction for service replacement exhaust sys-
tems. However, for the purposes of this section
only we will be referring to the exhaust system as
the portion starting from the flange joint after the
flexible coupling and in front of the center muffler.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. NOTE: If no part of the exhaust system is to
be renewed i.e. the system is to be removed
and installed complete; it will be necessary
to lower the rear axle. For additional
information,
refer to Section 100-02
Raise the vehicle.
3. Cut the exhaust pipe as specified to suit the
model type and the extent of the section to
be renewed.
4. Disconnect the flexible coupling
refer to
Section 309-00-7.
Discard the gaskets and nuts.
