a. Free running test

Place the starting motor in a
vise
equipped with
soft jaws and apply the battery voltage adjusted
to
11.5
volts
to the starting motor.
2.
Connect an ammeter between the
"B"
terminal
of
the starting motor and the battery.
3.
Operate
the starting motor and take a reading.
