ignition coil for cracks
or
chips.

necessary, replace

Note:
Before testing
the
coil, always heat
the
coil
to
normal
operating
temperatu
re.

5-J-1.
Checking Registance
Check
the
resistance
of
each hightension cord.
Th
e resistance should
not
exceed
16,000
ohms ± 40%
per
1 m (39.37 in).
Note:
a) When checking
the
resistance
of
the
cords
or
set-
ting ignition timing,
do
not
puncture
th
e cords with
a probe. The
probe
may cause a separation in
the
con-
ductor.
b) When removing
the
cor
ds
from
the
spark plugs,
grasp and
twist
the
moulded
cap
,
then
pull
the
cap
off
the
spark plug.
Do
not
pull
on
the
cords because
the
wire connection inside
the
cap
may become
separa
ted
or
the
insulator may be damaged.
