I . Clean the collar and collar mo
un
ting part
of
the
axle shaft.
Note:
Never
apply
the
oil.
2. Press the bearing retaining collar onto the axle ·
shaft using the attachment
(49 0259 748) until
it
is
firm
contact with the bearing inner race.
Note:
If the bearing retaining collar
is
press-fitted with
less
than 2.7 tons (5,900 lb), replace
the
collar with a
new one.
