Inspect the clearance and
if
it
is
more
than 0.10

(0.004 in), replace the rocker arm or shaft.

Checking
Cylinder Block
Clean t
he
cylinder block with a suitable solvent. Spe-
cial care must be taken when cleaning the oil pas-
sages, coolant passages and cylinder bore
to
remove
all sludge, dirt and carbon deposit. After cleaning,
use compressed air to dry the block thoroughly.
Examine the cylinder block for crack and any damage.
Examine
all
machined surfaces
of
the block for burrs
and scores.
Check the cylinder block for distortion in the same
way,
as
described in Par. l
-C-1.
