Assembly
1. Preparatory operations
• Thoroughly clean all mating faces and
reusable parts and check for damage.
2. Clean the piston cooling oil splash nozzles
and oil ways.
3. Measure the diameter of the main and big-
end bearing journals using a proprietary
micrometer screw.
• Repeat the measuring operation at
intervals of 90°.
• Different crankshaft sizes are used in
production. The different crankshafts are
not marked.
• If the measurements do not tally with the
values indicated in the General
Specifications, the crankshaft should be
overhauled or renewed.
