Check the appropriate smartchip socket, located on the
developer interlock plate assembly for wear or damage.
Is the above component free from damage?
Go to step 5. Replace the
developer
interlock plate
assembly.Go to

page 4-59.

Perform a POR.
Does the error occur when the power is turned off/on?
Replace the upper
printer engine card
assembly. Go to
“Upper printer
engine card
assembly
removal” on
page 4-88.

1 Check the M PC cartridge for proper installation.
Is the above component properly installed?
Go to step 2. Reinstall the M PC
drum.

Install the M PC drum in one of the other three PC locations.
Ensure that all PC drum slots contain a PC drum. Perform a
POR.
Does the error remain or follow the problematic cartridge?
Replace the
problematic PC
drum with a new
one.
Go to step 3.
