Consider a scenario with two branches connected via IPsec VPN tunnel with
OmniAccess 5740 USG acting as WAN termination device in respective branch
office.
For the VPN service in the above deployment, end point identification is one of the
basic needs. In the below given scenario, each branch office hook up to the
internet with an IP address dynamically allocated by the Internet services
provider. As the IP addresses are dynamically obtained, there is no guarantee that
these IP addresses remain constant over time.
To resolve this, configure DDNS client on OmniAccess 5740 USG. DDNS client
ensures that updates are sent to the DDNS server periodically or whenever there
is a change in IP address.
