LICENSE MANAGER OVERVIEW
Some of the features on the OmniAccess 5740 USG are license enabled. Hence
they require a license to function. These licenses regulate the availability of a
licensable feature at all times. These licenses are contained in a set of license
files that will describe the features authorized to run on the OmniAccess 5740
USG. License Manager helps in managing these license files.
Note: The license file is in XML format. Based on the user requirement, Alcatel-Lucent
would generate an appropriate license.
ALCATEL-LUCENT SPECIFIC FEATURES
• Ability to install, backup, and show licenses
• Serial number and date of issue for a license file
• License files will be guarded against tampering using public key encryption.
• Support multiple license files concurrently.
• Licenses are chassis specific.
• Permanent licenses (does not have an expiry date).
• Time bound licenses (valid for a specified number of days). Warns about license
expiration.
Note: If your license is time bound, you must obtain and install an updated license when you
get a notification on the license expiration. Note that the feature in a license package
will continue functioning for a maximum duration of two hours even after license
expiry.
• License expiry, invalid license format, and unavailability of licenses communicated
to the users.
