• Maintenance Association Identifier (MAID)
An identifier for a MA, unique over the domain that CFM is to protect against
the accidental concatenation of service instances.
• Maintenance association End Point (MEP)
An actively managed CFM entity, associated with a specific DoSAP of a
service instance, which can generate and receive CFM PDUs and track any
responses. It is an end point of a single MA and is an end point of a separate
Maintenance Entity for each of the other MEPs in the same MA.
• Maintenance Association End Point Identifier (MEPID)
A small integer, unique over a given MA, identifying a specific MEP.
