LVPS Exhaust Fan Fail
The LVPS Exhaust Fan error was detected.

• 042-338: LVPS Fan Fail
Initial Actions
• Rotate the Fan manually to check for binding.
• Power cycle the printer.
• If the problem persists, follow the procedure below.

Troubleshooting Procedure

1 Perform the LVPS Fan Moto r test
in
Diagnostics.
Is the LVPS fan rotating?
Go to step 3. Go to step 2.
2 Turn Off the power.
Reseat P550.
Turn On the power.
Repeat the LVPS Fan Moto r test in
Diagnostics.
Is the LVPS Fan now rotating?
Go to step 3. Go to step 4.
3 Does the error appear now when
making a print?
Go to step 4. Troubleshooting
complete.
4 Check the connection between the
LVPS Fan and P 550 on the LVPS for
open circuit, short circuit, grounded
condition or poor contact.
Is it conducting properly?
Replace the
following parts
in sequence:
■ LVPS Fan
(REP 18.8,
page 8-195)
■ MCU PWB
(REP 18.12,
page 8-202)
Repair or replace
the sections that
have short
circuits and poor
contacts.
