Paper Size Detection
Tray 2
Inserting the Paper Tray causes the Actuator to press on the Tray Paper Size Sensor
Switches at the rear, and the paper size is detected.
Load paper into the Paper Tray and align the Side Guides and End Guide. The End
Actuator and Side Actuator positions change as the guides are moved, which
changes the combination in which the Tray Paper Size Sensor Switches are
pressed. The paper size is determined by the combination of On/Off states of
these Switches.
Optional Trays: Single Tray Module (STM) and Lower Tray Assembly also utilizes
the same paper size detection mechanism.
