TO ENABLE/DISABLE AIS ON A MEP
Ethernet Alarm Indication Signal (ETH-AIS) is used to suppress the alarms
generated by multiple MEPs for the same defect condition.
This allows the fault to be reported to the NMS by a single layer (at which the fault
occurs and is detected) and not by all other higher layers; while a specific report of
AIS is available at each NMS level.
When a MEP detects a connectivity failure or an Ethernet AIS (at its level), it
transmits an Ethernet AIS message at its client level (if any) and multicast it at this
level. Thus, higher levels can track lower level faults.
The AIS message received by a MIP is forwarded when it is at its level, otherwise
it is discarded.

EXAMPLE
ALU(config-oam-domain-assoc-mep)# eth-ais interval 60s
ALU(config-oam-domain-assoc-mep)# no eth-ais interval
Command (in OAM-DA MEP CM) Description
eth-ais {enable|disable} This command is used to enable/disable
AIS.
By default, the ETH-AIS will be disabled.
Command (in OAM-DA MEP CM) Description
eth-ais interval {1s|60s} This command is used to configure the
AIS frame periodicity in seconds.
no eth-ais interval [1s|60s] This command is used to delete the
configured AIS interval and reset it to the
default.
The default AIS interval is 1 second.
