TO CONFIGURE REGISTRATION TIMEOUT
NHRP registrations are sent from the NHRP client to their configured NHS server
every 5 seconds till the registration is successful. After successful registration, it
sends the registrations requests based on the configured registration timeout
value.

O CONFIGURE AUTHENTICATION STRING
Configuring an authentication string ensures that only the devices configured with
the same string can communicate using NHRP.

Command (in Client Object CM) Description
registration timeout <60-65535> This command is used to configure
the interval (in seconds) at which the
NHRP registration requests are to
be sent to the NHS.
no registration timeout The “no” command resets the
registration timeout to its default,
i.e., every two-third of the NHRP
holdtime.
Command (in Client Object CM) Description
authentication <string> This command is used to configure
authentication string for NHRP.
All devices configured with NHRP
within one logical NBMA network
must share the same authentication
string.
no authentication The “no” command removes the
authentication string.
