This Subject gives the procedures:
To assemble a copalum splice with stranded aluminum and stranded copper wire
To repair the insulation of a copalum splice
To replace a copalum splice.
1. GENERAL DATA
A. General Conditions
For the conditions that are applicable for the repair of wiring, refer to Subject 20-10-13.
B. Configuration of Splices on Adjacent Power Feeder Wires
These conditions are applicable:
If more than one splice in a power feeder harness is necessary, the recommended configuration
is to install splices intervals along the longitudinal axis of the wire harness; refer to Figure 1
If it is not possible to install the splices at intervals, the splices can make 100 percent overlap;
refer to Figure 2.
