H. Preparation of Cable Type 9U (BMS 13-67 Type 2, Class 1) for Terminals 32189(), 323749 and
323750 with a Shield Ground Wire
Refer to Figure 20:
(1) Remove the specified length of the jacket from the end of the wire.
If the length is not specified, remove 1.00 inch ±0.03 inch of the jacket from the end of the wire.
(2) Remove the necessary length of the shield to make the distance from the end of the shield to the
end of the jacket 0.25 inch to 0.35 inch.
(3) Assemble a shield ground wire shield termination with mechanical ferrules.
Refer to:
• Subject 20-10-15.
• Figure 21.
(4) Remove 0.25 inch ±0.03 inch of the three inner insulation layers from the end of the inner
conductor.
(5) Make a selection of a 0.25 inch diameter TFE-4X heat shrinkable sleeve from Subject 20-00-11.
(6) Put a length of the TFE-4X heat shrinkable sleeve on the inner conductor.
(7) Shrink the sleeve into its position.
Refer to:
• Subject 20-10-14.
• Figure 21.
Make sure that the end of the sleeve is aligned with the end of the inner layer of insulation.
