clock set
The clock set Privileged EXEC mode command manually sets the system clock.
Syntax
clock set
hh:mm:ss day month year
or
clock set
hh:mm:ss month day year
hh:mm:ss
— Current time in hours (military format), minutes, and seconds. (0 - 23, mm: 0 -
59, ss: 0 - 59)
day
— Current day (by date) in the month. (1 - 31)
month
— Current month using the first three letters by name. (Jan, …, Dec)
year
— Current year. (2000 - 2097)
Default Configuration
The default time set is 0:0:0:0 Jan 1 2000 or xxxxx Month Day Year.
Command Mode
Privileged EXEC mode.
User Guidelines
There are no user guidelines for this command.
Example
The following example sets the system time to 13:32:00 on the 7th March 2002.
clock source
The clock source Privileged EXEC mode command configures an external time source for the system
clock.
