clock set
The clock set Privileged EXEC mode command manually sets the system clock.
Syntax
• clock set hh:mm:ss day month year
or
• clock set hh:mm:ss month day year
• hh:mm:ss — Current time in hours (military format), minutes, and seconds. (0 - 23, mm: 0 -
59, ss: 0 - 59)
• day — Current day (by date) in the month. (1 - 31)
• month — Current month using the first three letters by name. (Jan, …, Dec)
• year — Current year. (2000 - 2097)
Default Configuration
The default time set is 0:0:0:0 Jan 1 2000 or xxxxx Month Day Year.
Command Mode
Privileged EXEC mode.
User Guidelines
• There are no user guidelines for this command.
Example
The following example sets the system time to 13:32:00 on the 7th March 2002.
clock source
The clock source Privileged EXEC mode command configures an external time source for the system
clock.
